Let the chemo begin! I was feeling a little frustrated yesterday as I had my follow up appointment with the oncologist to confirm my chemo woiuld start on Monday. My frustration lies in the fact that In my last meeting with the oncologist he had said I would need to have an echo cardiogram as I have a family history of heart disease and I have a mitral valve prolapse but he would organise for that to happen, I didn't need to do anything and I would be called to line up the appointment. Well it got to Wednesday this week and I'd heard nothing. So I embarked on the great ring around to find out what was going on, only to find out the referral was never received by the heart specialist. Grrrrrr! So the onco's PA faxes it through. I get a call from the heart specialist to say the only appointment they have is at midday and it's 11:20am and I'm on my way to my first physio appointment that I've waited 4 weeks for. So it's a no can do! And of course he was going on 2 weeks leave from Friday and there were no other appointments. So I get to my oncologist appointment yesterday and the rush is on to have the test. So I ended up having to have a heart pool scan. Has anyone had one of these! Apparently it's not as good but it will give enough info for the go ahead with chemo on Monday.
Feeling extremely anxious about Monday!
I hope you all have a great weekend❤️
