A good day

Hi Troopers!

Don't want to bore you all with many more of these, so unless something of  great significance happens between now and my next round,  this long blog will be the last I share here! Of course I'll still post things here and  on fb though!

Hope you are all sailing along nicely and hugs if your aren't ??

from today's blog

Day 9 - after round 1

Getting better each day! Haven't had anti nausea medication for 2 days now.... ?? my head has been itchy as well ...
Heartburn is giving me a little trouble but went to the GP This afternoon and she's happy with my progress... She also gave me a script for heartburn meds .

I've lost a bit over 2 kilos thanks to my diet of toast and crackers, but she said that's ok.... my bp is good and was given the all clear for oral thrush ??
Despite rinsing with bicarb wash three to four times a day, My mouth has been gross and I really thought I had thrush, thank god I don't! She said that the feeling I have in my mouth is from the chemo, chemo kills off all fast growing cells .. Eg mucosa, hair, nails etc...it's just killed off my taste buds and the mucosa in my mouth...It will get better on its own eventually... Still gross though ??

Went to work for a few hours before going to the doc.... At least I could see the computer screen properly today! And my concentration is a bit better so Got a bit done so I feel a bit useful ??

I still feel tired, but I'm hoping by the weekend I'll be better again and will be able to get out of the house for a bit longer... Hope it cools down a bit too! How hot is it?

All in all a cruisey day!

Stay cool everyone! ??

Xx

  • Friend of mine said eat yoghurt to cure thrush, you can even put it downstairs in that bit but I haven't had to thank goodness lol.

  • Hi Scorpionqueen

My doctor recommended coke or diet coke for mouth ulcers and I only had two minor ones in 12 weeks.  I also didn't change my mouth routine by adding any extra rinses .  I  found chewing gum got rid of that gross taste in the mouth and gave some relief.

Good luck with the following chemo sessions and work

  • It is good to hear your feeling a bit better Tracy, at least working for yourself you can choose hours to suit. Sorry to hear about the mouth problems & hope your next session is better.
