A day back a t work.....Well a few hours at least!

Hi Troopers!

This morning went to my surgeon to get paperwork for my re excision this Friday. He's such a beautiful man, as in his compassion. He doesn't peer at us from behind his desk...he brings his chair and sits right in front of us....He explains things very clearly to my husband and me and is not fussed how many times we ask the same question. He explained why I can't have my mastectomy now and then chemo...bi lateral mastectomy is a big operation and would delay chemo for too long....and having a reconstruction increases the risk of infection, so chemo is a no no. He also explained in great detail how my re excision would be done and how he aiming to get clear margins this time....He also said I will have quite a bit of breast missing this time...But we don't care as long as that  bitch is out of me! and I'll be getting new boobs anyway! 

I have gone into work for a bit this afternoon, and I must say it's frustrating me as I cannot write properly! The cording in my arm has really affected the way I hold a pen too! ..who would have thought? Any-ways managed to get some computer work done. Lucky I am married to my boss! hahahahaha! ;)

I am thinking about my surgery this Friday and what is to come....It's going to be a long year, but am hoping it flies by.

    Morning Tracy,

    So glad you have a lovely surgeon,  Nats surgeon was very good explained everything he is very matter of fact type doc but he answered my questions before we had to ask them which was good we left know everything. 

    Yep its going to be a long year of the rest of your life.....

    Don't forget to do your exercises for your cording :)

    OMG we are twins! I married in 1990 and two kids. Met my hubby when I was 17 and we parted when I was 21 as he went interstate with his banking work. We got back together a few years later and never looked back.

    I hope they got every skerrick of that cancer and on to chemo for the mop up of any stray little bits floating around your bloodstream get zapped.

    Hi Tracy. Being confident in, & comfortable with, your surgeon, while two very different things, & so important. Glad you've found a good one!

    Hi Tracy, it's amazing how having a doctor that explains everything carefully is such a reassurance. Hoping all goes well this Friday. I will be thinking of you. Take care Nadine

    Hi Ruth,

    Actually don't mind when a Dr is "matter of fact" my GP is a bit like that, she doesn't mess about....I have had dealings with others that are just hideous though....

    I met my hubby when I was 13 and we've been together ever since....we did part for a few years, around 15-17...then we were inseperable. We married in 1990 and have two kids. I never had a best friend through school at all....HE is my best friend.......!

    Hi Chris,

    I'mm having a re excision, the margins from the tumor were unclear, so he's going in again to clean out some more before I start chemo...hopefully the margins come back clear this time....

    Hi Tracy

    All the best for your surgery on Friday. Nice to hear about your surgeon - makes the world of difference to have someone like that. I wonder how patients go when they wind up with Doc Martin/House instead. Hopefully they're few and far between.

    I cannot imaging working with my husband. I love him dearly but there's a line, a big fat line.

    So glad you have a nice surgeon Tracy It makes a big difference.  I still have to meet mine & do not have an appointment before my admittance date. The anaesthetist I met was lovely & put my mind at ease.

    I will be thinking of you on Friday sending healing thoughts & prayers.
