A bit overwhelmed

Hi,

This is my first blog ever

Just been diagnosed this week feeling very overwhelmed with it all, knew something was wrong but just kept on delaying going to Drs as i had scans a year earlier and thought everything should be fine but had that gut feeling, So my excuses are we have had a bit of a rough year flooded in Jan lost our house and all our possessions (insurance still hasn’t paid), lost my lovely dad in March and now July Breast Cancer

Trying to stay positive

See a surgeon next week for my mastectomy it’s all surreal

thanks for listening :)

  • Hello Katrina,

I can relate to your comment of 'it is all surreal' i think that a lot. Seems you are well in tune with your intuition. (Your gut instinct as you said.) This is what has helped me thru this breast cancer journey. Listening to my intuition on what foods to eat - when to rest, using music to help me relax.

You have come thru so much, I cannot begin to imagine your heartache. But you have come thru it.

We are many pink ladies here to share emotions on our journey of breast cancer.

    All the very best.

  • Hi Katrina

You sound like you have had a really hard time lately and to have breast cancer thrown into the mix is really not fair!  Welcome to the club that no-one wants to be a part of but we all love this website for the wonderful ladies who offer so much support and encouragement.

We can all understand what you are going through as we have been through it ourselves (maybe not the losing the house etc but certainly the BC!!).  Feel free to vent or whinge or ask questions any time as there is always someone on here to give you some advice or just to listen.  I have had such wonderful support from everyone here - I just wish this website had been around when I had breast cancer for the first time in 2003 (age 35) as I would have loved the support then too!

Good luck for your treatment and keep in touch,

    Louise x

  • Hi Katrina, sorry you have to be here but you will find a great sense of being supported and definitely not alone here.  The whole thing is quite surreal and i agree totally overwhelming! But, like the rest of us - you will survive! Hope all goes well with your surgery. Check back in and let us know how you're doing.
