5 More Radiations & I'm done :)

Hi Ladies....hope you are all progressing well in your journeys....just an update on my rads.. I have only 5 more treatments left which are double boosters God help me :):) my skin is a mess have done everything possible to avoid the skin from breaking down!!! Broke down anyway....going insane with it itching all the time, it's just like having eczema which I get on my hands, but all gone wrong...trying so hard not to scratch...wake up itching go to bed itching, insane time... the nurse is doing saline baths straight after treatments then dressings, they have also given me some cream on script called Novasone which I have to use sparingly & I am also using Dermeze to try & stop my skin from drying out so much & using moo goo body wash & keep the salt baths up... I do know that once radiation is over with I would imagine that it will heal fairly quick I hope....I am also very tired have been for the last couple of weeks...my friend was here this afternoon having a coffee with me & I kept nodding off & I tried so hard to stay awake, I felt a bit bad as she ended up going home..thank goodness she fully understands what I'm going through:):) I'm glad I don't have to go back to work until Im finished & I take my hat off to the ladies that have worked through their journeys......Emotionally I'm doing well, as I took the advice from a couple of lovely ladies on here to see a psychologist & she is lovely & I'm starting to see things in a different light..take care everyone ((hugs)) to you all Christine:) xox

  • I too had severe burns dressings 3 times a day.the last 5 they wanted to stop, but no way. I remember that itch oh it's the worst thing, I to had the dressings similar to jelonet net and solugel creme with large cotton pad over the whole boob which was amazing. Surprisingly enough it healed quite quickly, but remained red for ages. Make sure you still moisturise for ages after, I even still use the sorbelene soap. Regards adean
