3rd cycle TC chemotherapy

Has anyone had a horrible reaction to their 3rd cycle TC chemotherapy? This cycle (only 9 days along) has been the worst. I have had constant nausea, skin rashes and overwhelming fatigue. I have taken all the medications prescribed, but it seems I will just have to ride it out!

  • Yes I found each chemo got worse and my last I have been finished for 4 weeks and I am only starting to get over it not the fatigue or tastes buds though

It will get better hugs to you Karen

  • yeah my oncologist agreed it has a cumulative effect - makes sense as each time you have chemo your body never gets back to where it started. My bloods went a bit funny at the end - sugars were REALLY high and apparantly my Vitamin D is depleted - no wonder with winter and also being light sensitive.

  • I asked the exact same question, and my oncologist said that chemo is definitely cumulative.Cheers
  • It's interesting..as I asked the medical oncologist a couple of weeks ago if chemotherapy had a cumulative effect and she said no. This is the first cycle I have been as nauseated as I have...nothing seems to alleviate it for very long. I probably shouldn't be complaining as I feel that the first 2 cycles weren't too bad..except for overwhelming fatigue. I only have one more to go and YEH!!!! I'm finished. I then commence radiation. I'm looking forward to the end of treatments. Thanks for your kind thoughts. Chris
  • Yes I had the skin rashes. Zyrtec was definitely the best thing for me. My rashes were quite severe too. The tiredness definitely increases each round, but when it's all over u will get better quickly. Hang in there:) Cheers Robyn
  • I had TC - fortunately did not have nausea, did have a reaction with my eyes and had to take claratyne (still do the body is still repairing after all its been through this year).

I found on my fourth round of TC that the fatigue was worse as I guess it has a cumulative effect on your body. My really bad day was always the friday after the chemo on the tuesday - on my last one I had a bit of  a "sook" bawling for an hour as I was just so tired - my other half did not know what had happened. hope it gets better for you. how many more for you?
