3 Year check 'all clear' ... but concerned about my hip

I had a telecon chat with a locum Rad Onc as my 3 years 'from detection' scans (MG & US) were done 2 weeks ago & all the reports are good. So that is TERRIFIC!! (Unlike the 2 previous years, where 2 of my Xmas/New Years were totally destroyed by the initial biopsy/Diagnosis & another stuffed up biopsy in Dec last year!)
A couple of weeks prior to that, I'd had a CT on my left hip and a bone scan as I am having continual hip pain for no known reason - 3 months now! It is VERY annoying .... I really only notice it at night when I roll onto my left side ... so I was pleased when the reports showed nothing sinister, cancer wise - but shows lots of degeneration & bulging discs & the possibility of bursitis!
My GP wasn't that interested in getting the hip checked, so I contacted my Onc & she was onto it straight away - hence the CT & Bone Scan! The Rad Onc is going to recommend (in his report to the GP) that I get at least an ultrasound on the hip to see if it IS bursitis. I thought bursitis was usually from an injury .... and I am not aware of any.
I will also ask about an appointment with a rheumatologist as well ... I know I have arthritis for 20 years now - but I have never been definitively diagnosed (it started when I went thru menopause.) My mother had rheumatoid arthritis (with the extremely crooked fingers) where as mine are only mildly bent so far. All the knuckles are swollen (can't get my wedding ring off without cutting it!). My sister has poly myalgia rheumatica and is on prednisone now.
My really sad news is that my wonderful good friend and BC mentor in Qld, Debbie, passed away from mets last week. It was Debbie who 'put me onto' BCNA and am forever in her debt for that. She was a wonderful support for me throughout my diagnosis, surgery & ongoing treatment - we kept in touch regularly & she faded fast in the previous few weeks. Her family & friends are all devastated.
She has earned her angel wings. xx

Sad loss. - This is a card that Debbie sent me just 6 months ago when she replaced my 'Guardian Angel' - she'd given me a beautiful sterling silver one early in my diagnosis but it broke off the chain during my Radiation Treatments & I never found it (2 years+ ago) and she was so thoughtful to replace it, even tho she was going thru strong chemo at the time.
When she was diagnosed with mets, I'd sent her one, too, to help her thru. She was a nurse & was always helping others, who continued working even after her Mets diagnosis, until the chemo made it impossible to work - a strong lady, with a beautiful family ...
This time last year, she even had cells harvested that were supposed to be reinserted as stem cells in Jan this year after the chemo had been completed, but sadly, she never got well enough for it to be done.

Losing a good friend is so hard, especially one who has been through BC. My sympathies to you.
Good news with the scans.
I have lost 3 of my closest friends, one to a 2nd bout of BC, another to bowel cancer and the other passed away during surgery which was the biggest shock of all. I have their photos in my home and 'speak' to them regularly. I remember their anniversaries each year as I cannot travel to put flowers on their graves. I guess as we get older we should expect losses but it is still difficult.

So sorry about your friend. It is so hard saying goodbye to a friend. I lost a really good friend in 2016. I never stop thinking of her and I miss her often. Lovely that you have beautiful memories of her to remember her.

That is fantastic about your scans though and so good that you can have a scanxiety free xmas this time. There must be a left hip thing going around. Same over here but scans show nothing but "degeneration" there's a lot of that going on as well :)
