3 month checkup

Well done on a great 3 month checkup Robyn...how could it be any different with such a positive & proactive attitude!

I had a 2 1/2 hour wait for my daughter this morning while she had to do a test in another school/town.....was thinking.....oh, which coffee shop will I hang out in? Then decided...nah! Going to walk instead....& felt great after! I usually walk around our farm but it was a nice change to walk somewhere else!

You keep us all inspired Robyn....thanks!

I have a better body image too Deanne :) You are so right about goals,especially with winter coming up and it won't be so nice to get outside.Its great that even on this network where we don't really know each other,we can still help each other to continue looking after ourselves after treatment.I know for me,even though I have good family support,I still find this network invaluable.I wonder sometimes at what point does that change?If ever?Cheers Robynxix

People talk about their body image suffering with surgery and treatment but I find that the extra exercise I am now doing has led to me having a better body image than before diagnosis! I think mentally it is so good for you to feel that you have some control over your health after the fear and loss of control that you have when diagnosed. It helped me to feel I had some degree of control to exercise during chemo. I know it helped my body to recover more quickly. Let's hope that we all continue to experience good news at our check-ups. Goals are important to keep motivated. It's so terrific to hear about your goals and progress, Robyn. Keep blogging about it, it's so inspiring. Deanne xxx

I couldn't agree more,exercise is the best!I think that some people think that exercise can't possibly help with something as 'terrible' as chemo.But it does!!! And of course for ongoing good health.Good on you for signing up to do that.I am going to do the Mother's Day run/walk in Sydney this year. Happy exercising back to you!! Cheers Robyn xoxo

Congratulations - past the 3 months hurdle - great news!  You have done everything right, and you look the picture of health in your photo.

Tried your planking - 20 secs! - but improving in small amounts!

Just home from my gastroscopy/colonoscopy procedures - also great news - no evidence of any abnormality.  Have graduated to 3 year checkups now. It is always a relief to get an All Clear - and no weight gain either.  Exercise works.

That's great news Robyn, exercise when possible during treatment is such a healthy mind and body treatment in itself. I had surgery again last week so now have just booked myself in to do the Bay of Fires walk in Tassie in October - it gives me something to look forward to. Happy excercising Fiona xx
