2nd chemo done!

Different experience for my second chemo...developed allergic reaction to the Docetaxel this time - felt like my head was going to blow off my shoulders!  Lovley nurses had it under control quite quickly by switching off and administered Fenergen and on the oxygen till I felt better.  Scary feeling but all went well after that!

Day after felt pretty tired and huge bags under my eyes! Feeling alot better today but noticing my mouth is starting to have that usual awful feeling!

Half way point now...only two more to go!

My gorgeous husband bought #2 Rose for me to celebrate getting through...a beautiful collection once we are finished and reminder of our strength and love for life!

  • Hi Lana

Congrats on getting thru the first chemo....now you know what to expect it won't be as daunting!

Ah yes, the hair! My lifelong weird love affair with my hair has certainly been tested the last few weeks. But as Janey said I think we will get used to it.

Hope you continue to feel great!

  • Hi Lana, I'm glad you're through your first chemo without too many problems and hope this continues :) It's amazing how much shaving my head affected me at the time. I bawled my eyes out. But after a while you get used to it. Good luck with the rest of your treatment honey. Love Janey xxx
  • My ribs aren't too bad really. Yeah I'm a magnet for trouble this year I think. Well I'm getting things over with and starting afresh in 2014. Have a great weekend too Jen. Love Janey xxx
  • Docashit...love it Janey! Yes, scary but thankfully they know how to control the situation....we just must be very sensitive ladies hey?

My husband is just gorgeous...looks like he is! I'm a city slicker and met "my farmer" on holidays....so lucky I gave up my corportate and city lifestyle to live the country life...and yes, my roses are thriving!  Raining today so they are getting a good drink!

How's your ribs going?  Golly...you love getting into trouble hey? Hope this is the last of your battles...summer and the New Year will surely see you well hey? Take care...and have a beautiful weekend!

    Love, Jenny x

  • Thanks Jodie...always thinking of you and wondering how you are getting on?

    Big hug to you x

  • I had the same thing on my second dose of Docetaxel (Docashit as my husband called it). The chemo nurses were quick to get it under control. They are brilliant. It was scary wasn't it. A All of a sudden, the screens went up, I was put on a heart monitor and given oxygen and Fenergen too. The Fenergen reminded me of what I used to give my children when they were little. I now know how they felt, sleepy! I remember my husband was down moving the car at the time and when he came back, he got such a shock not knowing what was going on. But I was fine after that. The dose was slowed so that I could tolerate it better. You have a great attitude Jen. You can say you're over the hump now and on the home run. Hopefully you won't have the same problem again and you'll get through without a hitch. What a lovely photo you have for your profile Jen. Your husband looks like a really nice man. Your rose garden is going to look wonderful too. Love Janey xxx
  • That must have been a bit scarey. I remember being very nervous of Docetaxel when they explained about the possibility of a reaction. Was very glad to have that last one. What a wonderful idea with the roses. Hoping the next few days go ok for you. Take care. Deanne xxx
  • You poor thing Jen!Ever since they told me about that reaction that u can have to Docetaxel,I have worried about it.I am glad they got onto it quickly.Take care Jen.Not far to go.Robynxox
