- Michelle49MemberThank you Lucy I have a fabulous husband. A very close family and friends who have been spoiling me , in other words driving me slightly up the wall lol, so yes I don't have to look after myself everyone else is
- AnonymousGood luck with chemo. I had 5 weeks of radiotherapy and 1 week of a booster after a left mastectomy and ACT chemo, including above the collarbone. This reduced the risk of cancer returning. Great to hear you have everything in place, now you just have to look after yourself and get through the next step.
- Michelle49MemberOk so meet with dr tiver today for radiation consult and he said that I will only need 5 weeks of radiation, so score not 6 -12 weeks. He also said that since they found minute cells in the first lymph node he was going to hit all the lymph nodes up to my collar bone just to be 100 sure .
Just chemo to get thru now which starts next Thursday , so the rollercoaster starts - primekMemberAlways good to check.
- Michelle49MemberJust a quick query , when I seen the oncologist at daffodil cottage she asked me why I was having radiation after chemo if they have already done the mastectomy . I presumed it was because there was minute traces of cancer cells in the first lymph node ? I'm seeing the radiologist Dr Tiver on Tuesday and back tot he breast clinic and DrTrinh straight after so I guess I'll ask them both. I'm not saying I'm not going to do the radiation I'll do what ever the doctors want but It has been in the back of my mind ever since the oncologist mentioned it yesterday .
- Brenda5MemberDon't forget you need to look after yourself especially during chemo when your immunity is low. I used to have a box of Strepsils antibacterial near the door which guests would suck while they visited me. ;)
- primekMemberYou are going great guns.
- Michelle49MemberOk so back from daffodil cottage Bathurst, got my regime for chemo setup, starting on 29th June 4 treatments of AC, once every 3 weeks then 12 weeks of toxol to round out the 6 months. My HER2 was negative so all together I'm feeling happy . Go me lol
