Take a deep breath, it’s all new and you’re dealing with umpteen things and feelings at once. Surgery will depend on what needs to be done, and assessed urgency. Many people want their cancer removed immediately, that’s understandable but not all cancers develop quickly. So not all surgery happens immediately. Make a list of all your questions and if you are able to take someone with you to your next consultation, it can be really useful. That person is probably better at recording what”s said, in time you’ll become pretty expert too! It’s a shock but Australia’s medical system is very good, and developments in breast cancer treatment are almost constant. Public or private. Best wishes.
