- shannMemberHi all
It has been a while I know. Well I'd like to let you know I have had a little bit of healing. They took the pump off me on Fri 7 Sept and said we have done all we can now see what your gp can do as we don't know what to do with you. I have about 5 openings 1 on the the left, 1 in the middle, and the rest on the right (cancer side). Before this I have asked for a mri or ct etc but they keep saying you don't need it as we got all the cancer (this can be a sign of non healing). So they have thrown the towel and I am just suppose to do this now by myself as my gp would just say see the nurse as he dosen't do this (don't get me wrong in saying this he is a great dr but an x army man and just straight to the point in and out kind of thing) but I do trust him. I am now looking for a female gp and a caring one. A friend has given me the name of breast surgeon in Brisbane but its the cost as she is private and I doubt my mother would pay for a third opinion.
But apart from that I am out and about with the Support sisters Gold Coast helping in fundraising keeping myself busy is all I can do. xx - tigerbethMember@shann How are you doing ?

Shann - PatsyNMemberI tried to post the honey last week then took the computer to be fixed. Now I see it's just appeared, delayed response...

- shannMemberHi @Romla.
Thank you I will look her up and thank you. xx - RomlaMemberMaybe a long shot @shann but I remember an amazing surgeon in WA after the Bali bombings treating some terrible wounds and burns.Think she became Australian of the year Dr Fiona Wood - she is a plastic surgeon in Perth.
- shannMemberHi @arpie
They usually use silver dressings for infections (which I don't have) but unfortunately react with blisters and a rash to these. My skin does not seem to tolerate much at all unfortunately. But thank you for the suggestions. xx - ApprovedAnonymousThe user and all related content has been deleted.
- arpieMemberOh dear ..... that really sucks big time, @shann ..... shame you are allergic to honey/bees! :(
How about Silver Dressings? They used one regularly on an open ulcer on my hubby's leg & it aided in closing it fairly quickly .... when nothing else worked. (We hadn't tried Medical grade honey or other options above tho!) Usually the Community Nurses administer it every few days ..... it could be worth a question to the specialists?

All the best ... thinking of you xxx
