Mastectomy
Hello ladies, I’m 32 yo with HER2 positive breast cancer. I’m currently undergoing chemotherapy and i’m 3 weeks away from finishing my Abraxane+herceptin+perjeta treatment.
I will be having a mastectomy mid May, followed by radiation, then reconstruction which is scaring me a lot. I’m having all sorts of anxiety. My appearance is a huge thing for me, and on the other side I fear recurrence. I’m afraid of feeling ashamed of myself and never be confident again.
I know the world of plastic surgery is so advanced, and the stuff they do are amazing, but I know it will never be the same specially after loosing sensation.
I’m just wondering if anyone else felt the same? What did you do to feel better ?
Has anyone had a recurrence?

- Not Under Reconstruction includes we, the mono-boobed! Good name. I’ve had ten years to think about it and I’m not planning more surgery unless cancer strikes again but let’s include all those who may be considering further action some time after their original surgery.
- Flat, Lopsided - still Fabulous
- My idea is 'Not Under Reconstruction'. A bit of play on building construction sites and covers flat and fabulous or lopsided.

Flat, Lopsided & Fabulous? - Thanks @Fufan...my son (the father of the kids) calls them my '19702 LSD Flashback Pants...(I saw the fabric, loved it and made a pair). My grandies are my encouragement and my joy.

@Afraser I like the quirky name (flat chat). - This one, taken a year later (more hair) was a cheapy from K mart. Pardon the bum...
- I only wear my two prosthetic boobs for a special event, such as a wedding. Otherwise, I've found that the 'hippy' type tops, (this one shown is embroidered in blue at the front top) and button down the front with a loose cut, to be very comfortable. The slight detail on the front detracts from the fact that I have no frontage, as it were...
