My name is Magalie, I am 34 and I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer 6 months ago.
Luckily I felt the lump at its early stage, it was still small and the cancer had not spread yet. But because it was quite an aggressive type of cancer and because I am still so young, I am actually going through 9 months of treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
I decided to share my story by drawing cartoons.
Because drawing is helping me going through this journey.
And because I would like to attract attention for the breast-cancer cause among younger women, to educate them and the people who care about them... in a simple way - in cartoons !

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with all of us "pinkies" in such an amazing and unique way. Your cartoons are so honest and from the heart. I just love the expressions on the faces you have drawn - they tell the story without even needing words! Particularly yours ... I think many or most of us can all relate to the emotions you portrayed.
I wish you well throughout the rest of your treatment and a healthy, happy lifetime of love and laughter.

Re the artwork I posted, I could prbably have it made into a poster. I would just have to check it out with my printer. I am hoping to have cards printed in the next month featuring this artwork and others. I had Christmas Cards available last year. Hey, thanks for the tip. I just joined the creative corner. I'm working on another illustration at the moment, and hopefully can upload it when it's finished...another dragonboat of course!

I love the cartoons, they are great. I too am a only in my 30's with two young kids and never thought it would happen to me. I believe it makes you a stronger person that can tackle anything life is going to throw at you. Stay strong and keep drawing!!
