Hi, newbie here
Hi everyone. Quietly shitting myself here... 41 and had my first mammogram a few weeks back (finally got one done after sister diagnosed18mths ago) Got called back for further tests and yesterday was my appt. went in and had another mammogram and then an ultrasound which found a 2cm lump
in my left breast. Had a core biopsy done too. I remember having a lump there when I was very young but after getting checked out, was nothing. Went in and spoke to Doctor who explained to me that the way it looks was very concerning that it could be cancer. She went on telling me about having it removed and the process which to me indicates it is in fact more than likely cancer. I think what scares me the most is whether it has spread. The ultrasound lady said my lymp nodes looked ok and so did the doctor when she examined them. Do you think I have anything to worry about if they said that? Probably getting ahead of myself. Of course I’m scared but I also have a it is what it is, can’t do much about it. Thanks for reading

- SallySMemberThanks everyone xx Looking for a bit of advice now please.., so after being told I had LCIS, the Doctor went on about the possible next steps I could take to reduce my chance of getting BC down the road. He mentioned Tamoxifen and also more drastically a mastectomy as a preventative but of course he also said now that I’ve had screens, and now having 12monthy mammograms from now on, my chances of catching anything would be early and curable. Now my dilemma is that being my sister had BC at a young age of 43 and with my LCIS, he suggested seeing if my sister would get gene testing done and if positive, then getting tested myself. He said atm my chances of getting BC are currently 20-25% but if I carried the gene it would be more like 50%. What would you do? Would you just carry along with life and be vigilant in getting checked or go down the path of genetic testing and then decide from there? The Doctors had their meeting this morning discussing patients have called to see if I would come in for an appt to discuss my options.... I’m just so torn! I’m scared of the side effects of Tamoxifen, at 42 I feel I’m not ready for all that comes with it... I’m celebrating that I’ve been fortunate enough to have a clean bill of health but at the same time I’m pondering of what will come next... arghhhhh

good luck for the future xx - SallySMemberJust got back from my appt and it’s not cancer!!! Soooo bloody happy!!!! It’s LCIS so will now have yearly mammograms for earlier detection. My sister just had stage 3 BC at age 43 which is very young and now my LCIS, she will go get the genetic test and if we both come back positive then we will take about my options eg. Mastectomy or Tamoxifen. But for now, I feel like I can go live my life again. Love to you all xxx
