Fashionable Head Wear!

@kmakm @lgray3911 - you both look beautiful! Don't worry about the grey, I went grey quite young from the shock of losing my mother. It is so wonderful to see growth :smile: The hanna tattoo really looks wonderful, what a statement!

@Salpal I can't tell whether what's coming through on my head is grey or brown. There's white in there too, I think a bit more than before. Either way I'm happy that the overall effect is dark! In the crapshoot that is my genetic lottery, going grey late was in the win column.

I couldn’t find any headwear I liked because every time I tried one on I saw a cancer patient looking back at me so I went for henna tattoos instead. I loved them and didn’t feel bald when I had henna on my head which may sound strange! It also had the desired effect that I didn’t get the tilted head/pity look but got the oh my got what is that awesome artwork on your head look. Find what works for you and makes you feel good. Try not to stress about chemo. I was one of the lucky ones who had little or no side effects and I did 6mths of it. Everyone is different and I believe in the power of a positive mind! @kmakm yes l am definately feeling the Melbourne cold nights....brrrrrrr. My hair is starting to come through a bit but l'm noticing quite a few greys

I bought a few headscarves from a company called HatShow (based in South Aust but have a website) more expensive than eBay but so much to choose from.  I used them for work and going out.  I bought chemo caps and night hats for wearing about the house from eBay.  My wig that I rushed out to buy in a panic about losing my hair barely comes off its stand now as I prefer wearing scarves.  

@Salpal @onemargie I was comfortably bald when I came into hospital. Eight days later I am not. My last chemo dose was seven weeks last Tuesday. It has grown SO fast this week. I saw a BreastCare nurse on Wednesday and then Friday and she commented on the growth of two days! She said it's often like this after chemo. Not much, not much, not much and then boom, four to five weeks after the end of the last cycle (as opposed to the infusion), it grows like a weed.

I'll be sending my hats out to roam the world, but not yet. The hair is not coming in well at the front, YET (she says hopefully), so I'll be Sinead O'Connoring it until it does. Plus, I've got to get through a Melbourne winter first!

I agree with TonyaM- the headcovers website has a massive variety, it didn’t cost much even after converting to Aussie dollars and I was surprised how quickly my cap arrived. The shops that sell cancer caps here on the gold coast near me all stock the headcovers brand but they only have a tiny selection to choose from, mainly turbans. The website has so much and they are really stylish.

I went on the Wish shopping app...bought a few differnt coloured scull caps for $2 each, then did the scarf twirl around them with whatever colour scarf matched my outfit. There are so many on there and with the cost of everything else with treatment, you can afford a few.
