I'd love to know if there is a big increase in breast cancer and other cancers since 2019.I'm hearing of so many and from strangers on the phone in my job and personally from all different age groups.

@Pommy8 much of your observation could be due to the psychological phenomenon known as salience bias. In short, it’s relevant to you, so it grabs your attention.

The most likely reason for any increase is that, as has been frequently noted, people have not kept up medical appointments such as screenings and mammograms during the pandemic. There’s been a lot of catch up, in a short period. Vaccines sometimes have side effects - even the flu vaccine can cause side effects in a very small proportion of people - but the vetting procedures we have in this country means that the chances of a vaccine causing something like cancer are negligible. You’ll remember that the clotting problem with AstraZeneca was known, and publicised, very early.

I agree with @arpie in that the early detection of BC is a contributing factor.People are far more aware these days and do make the effort to have scans as a regular part of their medical regime.In the past the "C word" was never mentioned where nowadays people do tell others of their diagnosis.
