Wigs

Hello everyone,
I’m due to start Chemo in 7 days and have been told I will lose my hair.
Can anyone recommend a good wig supplier? and is there any Medicare funding for this?
also what’s the best/ most comfortable to get?Capless or Lace front?
The websites I have been on are crazy money and I’m not sure what I’m looking for?
  • Hi @Kerry-Lee47 I went to a place called www.shinywaywigs.com.au ; I purchased 2 over my 9 months of wearing wigs. It was the Drew and my hairdresser cut it into the shape I had naturally, the colour was the same OMG! nobody could tell. It was a lace one and i was around $400 but it was so worth every penny. You can get a rebate but I can't remember if its medicare or private health. It was hot in summer and it did itch but I got used to it, human hair was ridiculous!! I couldnt have been happier with it. Melinda xo
  • @Kerry-Lee47  I believe the Cancer Council has a wig service where you can borrow one for the duration of your treatment. A friend of mine got one from them and it is a lovely wig. Not sure about capless or lace front. Perhaps give them a call?
