Thank you I’ve been told this month that pre chemotherapy was not an option due to underlying health issues and told on Friday I have the CHEK 2 mutation gene so scheduled for a double mastectomy and 4 teeth removed during procedure this coming Monday 16th February I’m terribly overwhelmed it’s all happening so fast as well as terrified of the pain after anaesthetic wears off 😢

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming surgeries, Foraly xx You will feel so much better in yourself, once the surgery has been done.
Give the Helpline a ring, if you'd like to chat with someone over your concerns xx 1800 500258Having a double mastectomy (I understand) often has less pain after surgery than those having lumpectomies - and your team will also make sure you have sufficient pain control once the anaesthetic wears off! Just make sure that for the first few days that you take them regularly at 4hr intervals - so that there is NO pain breakthrough (even using an alarm during the night, to take that night time dose.)
Take care & all the best xx
Christina_BCNA ... can you add Foraly to the TNBC group please - it isn't 'showing' as her being a member?
