PS very normal to be sore for ages, it takes a long time to heal, inside.

If your lucky enought to have a scar  therpist near you - they are amazing at helping it heal and reduce adhesions, which is what pulls it tight. ( so several ladies at our breast cancer group tell me)

Even if your hospital doesn't have a bc nurse, you are allowed to contact one nearest you .

PS mine was really sore for 3 mths, i was a wuz, but all the anxiety made it last much longer. I should have got councelling early on, its a big thing to go through. Highly suggest councelling and dialy meditation and rehab stretches. BCNA have a series of videos too to get you  started on post surgery stretches to gently help the ribs and shoulders after being hunched for a few weeks. https://www.bcna.org.au/resources/articles/strengthen-your-recovery-pilates-program/

  • Thanks, I dont have a BCN even though I went thru the public system. I shall have to reach out to them to see if they can shed some light

  • So sorry to hear you are having pain issues along your scar line mgl  .. do you have a Breast Care Nurse that you can chat with about it?

Sometimes that sort of pain can relate to nerve endings (that were cut during surgery) trying to 'reattach' - and can even be sore/'shock like' to the touch too.  Sadly it can take a while to resolve (even months) ....

Take care & all the best with your recovery
