That’s wonderful! I used to love kayaking as a teenager but very rarely got the chance. If I lived up there, I would be out there with you for sure. 🌞
I started painting in watercolours about 5 years ago and I find that very calming. I’m lucky to have a spare bedroom that I have set up as my art studio and my desk is facing the window to our front garden. We planted it all with native plants and I get to watch the huge variety of birds every day when they come to feed. It’s very special but I’m sure your kayaking encounters would include much bigger companions than I have. 😄 🐳
Its so lovely having this much companionship along this horrid journey that we’re all on. It truly means a lot. x
SYLV1E ... My kayak has pedals, and I use it for kayak fishing! :) It really is my passion! Let's see if we can get you up here & on the water when you are able xx
I'd love to see your water colours too xx I don't have an artistic bone in my body - but my husband was a natural artist and did some wonderful art works xx
I am not a gardener, but thru my association with buddies here, I now grow Gazanias (that I gathered in Vic!!) and Desert Roses (that I learned how to grow from a BCNA best buddy in WA ..... (and I am NOT a gardener by ANY stretch of the imagination!!)
Interesting that your breast MRI was on your tummy! As my radiation was too!! I've never considered myself 'over endowed' .... I was always a 34" ..... but as I stopped wearing a bra in my 20s (I hated the tightness) maybe they 'stretched' a bit! LOL. So ... they had me facing downwards for my rads!
Looking forward to catching up somewhere, sometime ;)
Take care xx

SYLV1E ... I didn't know cup sizes went that large! LOL
I hope you get a surgery date soon ... in the meantime, just keep doing your paintings and anything else you love doing xx
Your logo painting is GORGEOUS! That would be a wonderful inclusion in illustrating a child's book! You can add your paintings to this post .... it's been a while since some new bits have been added!!! I'd love to see them!
One of hubby's drawings ... just multi coloured pencil of a young lady - is really special (No, it is not me!) If you move around the room - her eyes follow you!
Go to the link below - and just scroll down quite a few pages ... there are a bunch of my hubby's paintings there, including the girl!
(And there is one pathetic attempt of my own with some whales breaching! LOL. It was a Sip & Paint birthday 'do' and I think I sipped more than I painted! LOL)
There are some AMAZING art and craft works by SO many of BCNA members xx
Creative Corner! | BCNA Online NetworkNatives are the way to go, eh? Hehe I am not a 'real' gardener .... I have never been interested, but recently I've been finding (and pinching) and planting Gazanias (google them!). They are stunning colours! They are also prolific along the Highways & Byways in Victoria - so are free to 'pick'! That was the first place I ever saw them & now I have a bunch of them in my front garden (which is very much a 'no care' garden!!) 😉
I've also started sprouting & growing Desert Roses (after good friend AnnieC put me onto them!) And I've become besotted with them! I now have enough seeds to start a forrest! LOL. I'll be sprouting some in the next few weeks as the temps start rising again!
You can add any pics of your 'survivors' here, in the 'Garden' thread!!
Our Gardens | BCNA Online NetworkWhack up any of your art you are happy to share on the 'Creative Corner' thread xx We'd all love to see them xx
Take care - and we WILL meet up sometime - maybe with JacquiS - I am a bit further up, but happy for a day trip!! 😉 - SYLV1E1 day agoMember
When I rang to book the appointment they asked if my cup size was bigger than a H!
HELL NO! 🤣
I hadn’t considered that they would do the radiation that way too so thanks for the heads-up. 🤦🏻♀️
I haven’t even got a surgery date yet. Im hoping to hear something tomorrow as I just want to get started. With my watercolours, I do all sorts of different styles. The icon near my name is one of my paintings if you can get a decent look at it. I believe there’s a section on here for us to share our different hobbies so I’ll have to and explore that section one day and post some of my favourite paintings.
I’d love to see some of your husbands artworks too.
Im not big on gardening these days. We replanted the garden with natives as they’re not high maintenance but the number of feathered friends has exceeded my expectations.
Hoping to meet up one day but until then, it’s great being able to talk to you on here.
Wishing you all the best. xo
