House-sit/ Van swap - Sydney
This is a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained.
I was diagnosed just before Xmas and before I had time to blink I was in surgery.
I live in a motorhome and have been on the road for 4 years.
I was so lucky to have a house-sit lined up to cover xmas and NY so my recovery has seen me mooching around in my jammies with air-con, a lovely view and peace and quiet.
I've just been told that my margins weren't big enough so they are operating again on 10 Jan to take another slice.
What I am looking for now is another house-sit / cat-minding from 10 Jan for 10-14 days.
A granny flat would be good too - anything as long as it is totally private and quiet.
I am happy to exchange my motorhome if somebody would like a holiday away from the city.
The van is my home and set up for one person only. Legally, it has two seatbelts but the bed is only 1200 wide (in between a single and double). It has a full annex so a second person could sleep outside. It has solar panels and a generator and a toilet but no shower. It has a few other idiosyncrasies but it's reliable and economical, easy to drive (automatic) and covered by insurance as long as you have a clean licence.
If you are interested at all, please drop me a line at jecmap at g mail dot com and we can discuss the details further.

- Jax1964MemberHi Lyn lrb_03
I don't know who my radiation oncologist is yet but my medical oncologist is Alison Davies. I haven't moved to Canberra yet so I haven't jumped on that particular merry-go-round.
I am heading off to the Adventure Travel Film Festival in Bright Vic for a bit of distraction before reality kicks back in and then I'll move into the Resihotel attached to the hospital for 5 weeks.
The research is about my 4 great-uncles who fought in the First World War. I have a website www.smythe.id.au/letters and I need to tidy up a few details. - SoldierCrabMemberOH that is so nice @irb_03
- lrb_03MemberWho's your Radiation Oncologist? Just curious, so you don't have to answer.
Again, cuious, but what are you researching at the War Memorial? I remember going u there at one stage with Dad to get some information on his Dad's war service. The staff & volunteers up there were very helpful.
I can't offer any housing support in Canberra, but happy to be a friendly face. Having some (hopefully) minor surgery on the 16th, so will be out of action for around a week, but either side of that....
Take care, Lyn - Jax1964MemberNot too bad. Two surgeries done and dusted. Radiation starts mid-Feb.
I'll be doing it in Canberra so that I can do some research at the War Memorial - SoldierCrabMember@Jax1964
Hi Jax just wanted to see how you are going .... - Jax1964MemberThanks for keeping an eye on these for me. I love Surry Hills but the dates are no good. By the 25th I will be well enough to go back into my van.
- SoldierCrabMemberHEY @Jax1964 just got this link from a friend who is in Queensland and looking for someone to house sit .... her friend told her about this website...
