Hip Hip Hooray! I had my last treatment today!!!!!!!

Well, I did it! Today I had my last Herceptin and finally finished 13 months of treatment. What a year! 3 surgeries; 4 rounds TC chemo; 17 rounds Herceptin; 30 sessions of radiation; 5 biopsies (incl 2 sentinel nodes); 8 CTs; 2 MRIs; 6 gated heart pool scans; 4 echocardiograms; 1 PET scan; 1 nuclear bone scan; 2 mammograms; 8 ultrasounds; 18 x-rays; 2 endoscopies; 1 colonoscopy; 117 needles; 3 radiation tattoos; 36 different medications; 7 hospital admissions; 9 different specialists; 7 kg weight gain; 22 kg weight loss; 8 port blockages; complete hair loss, chemo induced menopause; dyspnea; neuropathy; neutropenia; radiation esophagitis; early heart failure …. and a partridge in a pear tree.

Latest scans don’t detect any cancer. I’ll still attend the chemo unit every 6 weeks for another 2 years to have my port-a-cath accessed. 2017 has got to be better!
