Hi there, I'm Janina. I've arrived home from hospital yesterday after having an axillary dissection and mastectomy on Wed are/eve 20th Nov.
I was diagnosed in late Oct with grade 3 DCIS at around 26...
Welcome to BCNA. I hope you are feeling better soon. The trip home from hospital is surprisingly exhausting. Take it very easy at first. Let that wonderful partner of yours look after you.
I had a mastectomy and 8 nodes removed in May this year. I did not need much pain relief for very long. Although I was very glad that I took an Endone before the car trip home!
It sounds like you have a good breast care nurse so that will be great if you need any medical advice. This site is great for discussing how you feel with ladies who understand exactly what you are going through. It's also a good source of information. Hope things go smoothly now you are home.
