Future thoughts - when to start trying for a baby
hi ladies,
before being diagnosed we were about 2 months away from starting to try for baby no. 2. Seeing all my close friends and mums groups putting up photos of bubs or announcing their pregnant again has made me sad that we can’t :(
i know it’s best to concentrate on my health etc and am still only at chemo stage so still a long way to go treatment wise (surgery May, radiation June) but i was wondering if anyone has gone onto have a baby and when they were given the go ahead?
i am on Zoledex in a hope to save my ovaries from the chemo and we managed to freeze 3 embryos so that’s something

- AfraserMemberSo sorry, no I don't know and we are now long out of touch. Best wishes.
- youngdogmumMember@Afraser out of curiosity do you know if your friends cancer was er/pr+?? Ta!!
- AfraserMemberAn acquaintance of mine also had a healthy baby after breast cancer treatment. As suggested, a referral to a specialist with some experience in this area may help too.
- JoeyLizMember@SoldierCrab oh wow that’s encouraging thanks, yes I’m in that group but it doesn’t seem very active

my bosses wife had BC in 2012 they now have a very healthy active 2yr 6mth old ....
have you joined the Young womens group on here ? - CrustyMemberWhy don't you ask for a referal to obstetrician/gyno that way you can dicuss your plans and see whats required for after treatment, and how long etc im seeing a gyno while on chemo but i don't want any more babies I've had 6 she told me not everyones ovaries shut down hence i keep getting told don't get pregnant while on chemo ,but i can't have birth control either
- lrb_03MemberAbsolutely agree with what you've both said!! As I said earlier, if breastfeeding is interfering with your enjoying your baby, change to formula, no guilt
