All my girly bits are gone!
I’m writing this in hospital after a full hysterectomy this morning. My breast cancer was 100% ER/PR and pretty much since my mastectomy my surgeon, oncologist and GP and been recommending this.
Anyway, back from 2 weeks in Japan with 25 school kids on Saturday and straight into hospital. I know I wanted a break but what a way to do it :)
My big win is the surgeon was expecting to have to do a big abdominal incision due to adhesions from earlier surgeries. He had a little look via keyhole and managed to get it all done that way! Yay!!!
I’m feeling a bit funny about this surgery tho. I don’t really have any attachment to my uterus - we couldn’t have kids despite IVF so that organ let me down big time! Ovaries? Well, they were in cahoots with my breasts to kill me!
I said to my husband that there’s not much left of my body which makes me a women - just one breast! His answer ”yes there is, your soul”

Yes! I got my phone back. I had to make a 2.5 hour train trip each way back to Kansai Airport in Osaka (but that did give me 5 hours of me time away from 25 school kids haha)

I don't know you, but from here I know you are funny, wise, empathetic and kind. None of which has anything to do with lady parts! Hang in there and rest well. K xox
Oh and hey, did you ever get your phone back?! - Thanks @primek - we all know breast cancer is the terrible gift that just keeps on giving in oh so many ways! As to my husband of 32 yrs, definitely keeping :) x
- Surgery is always a mixed emotion. It's really about "what else breast cancer has taken from me" type of feeling. I had more depression over my post chemo weird curly steely grey hair than losing my boobs. Weird. Anyways...glad surgery is over for you.

I recognise the tricky bit will be taking it easy. Like all of us I have a tendency to just do this little job while I think of it. Yes, my husband has been amazing though my BC and this surgery. It’s times like this we count our blessings x - Hello @Hopes_and_Dreams
