That's such a good point. Doing an Advanced Care Directive together is an excellent way of talking about what are often sensitive subjects. My mother did hers years before her condition savaged her mobility. In her last 2 years, while unfailingly chirpy and grateful to the medical profession, there was a ban on going to hospitals. She was not looking to die, but had no intention of anyone officiously forcing her to live. Her preparedness and clarity made everything and everyone informed and unified.
