I love tbe idea of posting our toys from our earlier years. The photo is of a childhood doll.
She is an English Pedigree "Walkie Talkie" doll, a Christmas present when I was 5 years old, now makes her 63 years.
She is mostly in good order. Her hair is original, the elastic that holds her arms in place is a bit "stretchy" and she has lost her voicebox, so she can no longer say "mama" or "wee wee" as my dad used to tease me with!
Her dress is not original. I remade all her clothes for a craft show some years ago. Her knickers have lace on the leg edges which match the pink of the dress.
I confess that in a fit of temper (with my mother) when I was eight years old I ripped her eye lashes out.
I called her Susan. Out of all my childhood toys she is the one that has lasted and been kept. Sadly I have no one to pass her on to.
