UK approves new BC drug after Serena-6 Phase 111 Trial
Australia often follows other countries with BC trials & drug approvals .... let's hope this trial happens in Aussie, too.
The Institute of Cancer Research, London, strongly welcomes the news that camizestrant, a powerful new drug for advanced breast cancer that can be used to treat emerging tumours, has been approved by the medicines regulator, the MHRA.
The drug has been approved to be used in combination with a CDK4/6 inhibitor (palbociclib, ribociclib or abemaciclib) for the treatment of ER-positive, HER2-negative, locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
The approval is based on results from the SERENA-6 Phase III trial - funded by AstraZeneca and co-led by researchers at The Institute of Cancer Research, London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Institut Curie, Paris – which were published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
