- BlondyMemberNot hearing from Shakalker, I hope it's because she's somewhere having her burns treated. I must admit she's been on my mind all week and I hope she's getting properly looked after.
- ZoffielMemberExcellent advice from someone who's been there @Silba
- SilbaMemberI had exactly the same , ended in hospital for a week .
See your oncologist and get them to admit you so you can get the pain and the burn treated, don't wait . - TonyaMMemberHi Shakalker, that looks really nasty and might need antibiotics? I hope they gave you some strong pain killers. Mine wasn’t that bad and I was on painkillers and hydrocortisone cream- I was a right sook!! Keep at them cos the squeaky wheel gets attention.
- FlaneuseMember@Shakalker I've just come in on this thread. That looks horrendous. Mine was nothing like that. But then I didn't have the film - just used StrataX ointment. I hope you've had some response today. It looks like emergency territory to me. Take care.
- arpieMemberHow did you go at your Onc? Was she unhappy with it?
Were you able to get specialist treatment of the wound? I hope so.
Take care xx - lrb_03MemberHi @Shakalker. Hope you got some good help at today's appointment, and some good pain relief
- Lisa1407MemberOhh you poor thing. What a nasty burn and no wonder you are in agony. Time to speak up loudly (or scream and cry) at the hospital and get some attention. Hopefully, you will be given some assistance at your appointment. Hope it starts to heal soon. xxxx
- JoeyLizMemberOh you poor thing. I'm so sorry that the nurses let you get that bad.
Talking to my colleagues, it needs to be dried out, so sudocrem smothered all over and a non adhesive dressing to stop clothes rubbing. Nothing adhesive that will pull the skin away. Once dried up then apply the moo goo to rehydrate new skin.
Best wishes - SisterMemberI agree with the others - if the radiation nurses aren't giving you any real help, seek it elsewhere. If you don't want to go out of the radiation sphere then insist on speaking to your rad onc. I can't imagine that putting MooGoo on burns like that would be advisable but I'm not medical expert.
