Lumpectomy tomorrow !!!

Still does not feel real. I had a call back from mammogram on 12 th January and after a biopsy was told I had early stage breast cancer.  18th January I saw surgeon and it was decided to do lumpectomy and radiation and tomorrow I go into hospital.

What a whirlwind, feelings of shock, horror and now fear of what is to come!!!

my husband had a stroke 5 years ago and is in a wheelchair but luckily my daughter lives close and I am sure will be a big help, just hoping it hasn't spread xx

  • Hi there,

It is a whirlwind, the next weeks will be a blur of appointments and procedures. You will get through it though! Take one day at a time and accept whatever help comes your way.

    All the best

  • Hi wishing you the best for tomorrow. I agree with Summer ask for help, if you are your husbands carer there is help out there if you ask and persist. Sending you positive thoughts xx

  • Hello

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your husband and family.

You will be OK - ask ask ask any questions that come to mind.  No question is silly.

Once you are going home, if they do not offer help, make sure you say you are basically 'alone' and need assistance.  Your daughter should not be expected to do so and your darling husband is not able to so let the system take up any slack for you.

    Be strong.

    Hugs

    Summer  :-)
