Thanks Margie. I was pretty lucky that once I worked out I was allergic to Maxillon and that I managed the chemo better with a higher white blood cell count, I felt pretty good after each round. Had my genetic testing quite early on in the process - no BRCA gene but they can't rule out an unknown genetic defect as several women in my family have been affected. I still chose the mastectomy option because of my age and the potential for another primary cancer down the track - plus after breast feeding my first child for almost 12 months, my boobs have taken a bit of a battering so will look so much better once they've been reconstructed! lol
Surgery is Thursday arvo so not long now!! x
