I had tissue expanders inserted when I had both boobs off and have had my implants replaced three times in ten years because they have either escaped or become encapsulated. I was 43 when I had the first surgery.
There is no way of telling how your body will react to the implants except to have a think about how it responds to any other insult. I scar heavily, always have done, and that should, with 20/20 hindsight, have been a heads up. I wouldn't do it again, but then I wouldn't have gone for the flap reconstruction s either. I'm too clumsy and physical and don't do well with taking things easy. I think I would have adjusted better to being flat chested if I hadn't invested so much time trying to fix an unfixable mess. That said, I know several woman who have had no problems at all.
The implants get wickedly hot in the car if the sun is on them.
