I'm 52 and basically they were very keen to reconstruct as I was "young". Get an appointment with your breast surgeon (mine was fabulous . ..he did my tissue expander reconstruction ..but we can't pick them ) and ask for a referral to a plastic surgeon for reconstructive surgery. Tell him not only are you having issues due to the surgery, you have ongoing issues with the physical aspects of this and definetly the emotional aspect of a very poor surgical outcome, leaving you feeling deformed. It can be improved. You may need to go on a waiting list but it will be worth it. I opted on mastectomy for exactly this reason, but things can most definetly be done to make things better. Even if removing the nipple is necessary that can be reconstructed also. Good luck. Take care...you are worth it. Kath x
