Recommendations for Brisbane plastic surgeons
Hi everyone
I haven’t been here for the last 3 years as I was so devastated by my TRAM reconstruction I had on the left side in 2014 , the second time I had breast cancer. Since then I’ve been tested and I have the BRCA 2 gene that runs in my family . I’m going to have a right mastectomy and reconstruction in Brisbane this year and hopefully it’ll be good. . Can anyone recommend some plastic surgeons please ? I’ve been knocked back by 2 so far , one didn’t even see me , just said he couldn’t do anything looking at my photos and the other declined , didn’t want to step on the original Drs toes so to speak but I have NO intention of seeing him again. I expect there’s not a lot of choices for me as my stomach muscle has already been used . Thank you

- BeppieMemberDr Cheng wouldn’t give me an appointment to see him . He looked at my photos and history I emailed and said no he couldn’t help me
- JulieVT11Member@Beppie my Breast Surgeon recommended either Dr Cheng at the Wesley or Dr Matt Peters who is based in Fortitude Valley for my recon work, she said they were both excellent but expensive - could be up to $10k out of pocket. I haven’t seen either of them yet so can’t give any idea of what their work is like. Good luck

Hi! sounds like it's been rough for you. The private group as suggested maybe helpful. Here's the link

- Patti_JMemberYes. I was one of her first lat. dorsi patients. Excellent!
- youngdogmumMember@Beppie that's a shame. I've seen some photos of Megan hassall's work in Sydney from Lat Dorsi recon, maybe you could look interstate if you have insurance? Lat Dorsi is probably your best option with TRAM used and I'm guessing radiation? Hope you find answers
- BeppieMemberHe was my original plastic surgeon so no , and Dr Cheng wouldn’t give me an appointment to see him , he reviewed my case based on photos I sent him so he’s out too . Thanks for your help anyway .

A lady I know through social media saw Eddie Cheng at Wesley I think and speaks highly of his work. Good luck.
