5 sleeps to go!

Hi girls.....was doing my best to pretend none of this has been happening. Life as usual! But now I have 5 sleeps to go til I have my mastectomy. I havn't been sleeping well at all so I got some natural sleeping tablets. Restavit. 2 nights of these and am feeling a bit better.

Decisions were so tough for me. What type of reconstruction???? I have already had radiation so not sure how skin will go but am trying first up for a skin sparing mastectomy with a tissue expander. They will know if my nipple will survive within 10 mins and then the skin in about 3 weeks. If this is unsuccessful the lot comes off and I will go a tram flap in the future.

I have my ups and downs but after waiting for 6 weeks since diagnosis, I just want it over. Was hoping it would have all gone away....wishful thinking.

Take care lovelies!!!!!!

Kel

  • Dear Kel

I am wishing you all the very best and I am hoping the first surgery is successful but if not then the second will definitely give you great results.

It is like you say.  We try and pretend it just not happening and get on with our lives and that is a really good thing as there is no sense dwelling on it and worrying about it is there.

You are now close so it is a bit harder to keep it out of your mind so easily.

Listen to the people like Janey as she is an inspirational and is coming through her surgery and finally starting to smell the roses as she has said.

There is a wonderful group on here called Breast Reconstruction.  I am not sure if you have seen it.  If you would like to join this group of women who can relate so well to what you are going through then just go to main page and find groups and type in breast reconstruction.  It is facilitated by a very beautiful girl called Louise.

Thinking of you and sending you healing hugs in advance.  We are all here for you.

Lots of love today, tomorrow and always, Mich xoxoxoxo

  • Beautiful Kel. It will all be over soon and you can get on with healing in body and mind. I am feeling so much better at nearly five weeks after my op. I am sending you loving thoughts and my fingers are crossed for you that your first procedure goes without a hitch. Lots of love Janey xxx
