2 years today
Afternoon everyone today it is 2 years since my mastectomy and reconstruction on my left breast. This time 2 years ago I was still in surgery. I look at my breasts now and think it has been a long trip, scars are fading and I'm happy with how they look. Time helps to heal my body and mind, yes I'm changed forever from this whole trip, some for the better and some changes I don't like. Life is good work not the best but sometimes we all struggle with work. Everyday I get up and give thanks that I'm here, wishing you all a good dayxx

Hi cat my husband has always been a boob man and this hasn't changed, but I feel very different about my boobs. Not sure how I can explain, but yes I think it is about being comfortable in my own skin. It is all so very new for you take it easy and don't put pressure on your self time does help xx

hi, I have worked through out my treatment, I had surgery, chemo, then more surgery and now waiting to have radiation therapy. I would have my chemo on the Monday, work Tues and Wed but took Thurs through to Monday off (being part time I work Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sundays) then would work as per normal hours until my next round 2 weeks later. I have to work as I support myself financially. It is hard at times and still is. Just listen to your body and take time off when you have to that's all I can suggest. all the best with your treatment

I hear you. All you can do really is get on with life and do the best you can. I relate, I too had left breast Mastectomy and reconstruction. Yes the scars fade and you try not to look at it as having a mastectomy.
Do you have your nipple tattooed yet? I still haven't had it done after 3years and 10 months. Doesn't bother me that it isn't done. Did you have the fat transfer? and have you had any problems with it shrinking? I've had to have 2 refills as it has shrunk a cup twice over the years. Funny when the fat was on my tummy it was hard to shift but now it is in my boob it shrinks when I exercise. It makes my plastic surgeon rich plus I don't mind going back to see him every year as he quite cute and has the loveliest bedside manner for a medical practioner!!!! LOL
wishing you all the best in future

Congratulations on 2 years cancer free Rowdy. I reached this milestone in May this year. What a huge 2 years it has been. Thanks for your support over that 2 years. I wish you continued good health. Whilst we adjust to our "new normal", let us never forget the lessons we have learnt along this journey. I too thank my lucky stars each day that I'm here to live it. Take care. Karen xox

Woo hoo! Well done on reaching this fabulous milestone Rowdy. You've been through so much over the past two years and yet you have been such a generous and compassionate supporter for many of us. Here's to passing many more milestones xx
