So I was sat watching a tv programme called The Bridge, the characters were discussing how you cope and going on after grief and loss. One character said "you get up every day and make your bed". The statement struck a chord with me and quite suddenly it all became clear. I was diagnosed a couple of days ago with breast cancer, I'd gone through why me (the answer was why not) I'd gone through I don't want to die ( the answer was it's the one certain thing in life) and now I was stuck with how will I cope? And hearing the statement on tv "you get up and make your bed" made me realise the answer......you put your big girl knickers on, face the day and take small steps. I cried less yesterday than I did the day before and today I didn't cry once, tomorrow.....meh who knows but I've bought extra tissues just in case!
