Hi there

Did you know that the Cancer Council have a free wig library? I'm on a pension so it came in very handy for me. If they do not have the colour or style you want they will order it in and still supply it for free. They ask that you return them when no longer needed, so another person can benefit.

If you have finished treatment and no longer need your wig, may I suggest you donate it to them to help other women?

I don't live in Melbourne but the Cancer Council offices are in St Kilda Rd, easily accessible from Kings Way off the Westgate Bridge, and I took the opportunity to visit friends in Melbourne on the same day. The fitting took about half an hour, then I went shopping for lovely and practical headgear in their shop. One of the staff showed me how some of the scarves could be tied - very helpful!

I'm all set for the ritual head shaving in a couple of weeks!

Yes, I went to the Cancer Council Wig Library up here in Brissie and they were marvellous. So helpful, I'm quite happy with my wig, just have to be more self confident when I wear it. What a lot of support there is out there for us ladies, take care,
