One little blow in our world today :(

Our family were very much saddened as our darling little cat had to be put to sleep. She was almost 19 years of age and has been with us since she was 4 months old. She had shown signs of arthritis and was suffering a bit from dementure and she'd become quite thin over the past few months but we'd had her checked out and were told she was reasonably healthy for an elderly cat. Her thinness was just old age the Vet had told us and we were giving her medication for the arthritis.

She started having trouble with walking in recent days and she had just stopped eating and drinking and was hardly able to stand up so we thought it was time. We didn't want her to suffer any more. My husband had the awful task of taking her to our Vet and she is now buried under some lovely spring daffodils in the garden. Everytime the daffodils come up now I will know Meggie is smiling at us.

She is a rest.

I know this is quite small in the scheme of things but I needed to post it anyway. Thanks for listening x

Meggie was my constant companion and would sit on my lap when I was feeling bad through chemo. Her purring would sooth me. I will miss her.

I hope a ramp is the solution you're Ellie needs. She sounds like a beautiful dog.

    Love Janey xxx

Sorry to hear about Meggie. We have a 15yr old cat called Mittens who really belongs to my daughter. Mittens got my daughter through those difficult teen years. If she was upset she would just swoop Mittens up and take her to her bedroom for a cuddle and a sook.We would all be devastated if Mittens died so I can sympathize with you.Gosh you are having a crap year.    Tonya xx

My deepest sympathys for your loss. 19 years is a remarkable age. We have only just discovered what beautiful creatures cats are around 2 years ago. We now have 5 rescue girls, all from Animal Rescues and RSPCA's and they have enriched our lives so very, very much. Our babies are all indoors and we have the Taj Mahal of outdoor catteries measuring 9m x 7m and standing 3m high. They have a special tunnel that runs from our house straight to their cattery. Ah, its a cats life. I wish you well with your breast cancer journey. I have just learned of secondary cancer in my lungs so my feline friends will be ready to comfort me through another journey. Good luck xxx

I'm so sorry that you have to go through another journey. Just read your blogs and I think you are incredibly brave. Your beautiful cats will be there for you as my Meggie was. Draw strength of them together with your family.

I am sending you hugs and kisses and hope that your treatment isn't too rough.

    Strength to you.

    Love
    Janey xxx
