I'm Back!!!

Hi Everyone... Did you all miss me? Operation (mastectomy & axillary clearance of right breast) went well on Friday AM. I went home from hospital sunday (yesterday).  I have to wait until thursday to to find out if all clear or not.

I have no pain except for the blisters from the dressings. But I'm getting there. Sick to death of carrying my drain bag with vac pump attached, around everywhere. What does everyone else do. Had some suggestions about putting it in a carry bag, tie it to a belt, put it in a pillow slip.My dogs are very interested in the bag if i put it on the floor.

I rang my breast care nurse this morning. She is on leave until 11th Nov. That was nice to know, wondered why she hadnt visited while i was in hospital. Hope she has a love ly break.

So yeah now i'm just resting and blogging and healing. Well wishers are slowing up.

Anyone heard how Flo got on in Perth. Her op was the same day as mine. Hpe she is ok. I left her a message.

Cheers for now, nap time xoxoxo

  • Hi Chrissy,

Welcome back.I missed you and have been wondering how you got on. You sound like you are in fine form. I must say that I found it a little frustraing that there was fundraising for breast cancer everywhere in October, it was really in my face. However when I contacted the mcgrath foundation there are no breast care nurses in my area. I live in sydney not in a remote area.

Good Luck with your pathology results. Its a roller coaster ride, but im glad that I found this site to share it with everyone. I used to work at SUSSAN and I know that they are major sponsors. Never knew how important it would become to me.

I didnt get the drains apparently my surgeon doesnt do them however have had to go back twice to have the fluid drained out with a needle.

    Keep us posted.

    Cheers

    Jo xox
