Breast prosthesis to give away

Hi Ladies,

I have a breast prosthesis to give away if anyone is interested. It is by Amoena and is for a right breast and is called a Natura 3E, size 4R. It also says on the box, that it replaces Natura 3E 661. So, if that means anything to you, great, but if not, I was about a 14B before surgery, so not very big.

I am moving house, and found this while sorting through my things. It has hardly been used, as I have had reconstruction. It seems wrong to throw it out, so I would be happy to post it to any interested lady, or send on to an organisation that may donate them. Does such an organisation exist?

Love Chris xx

Hi Chris, I too have two  gel prosthesis ( small size , number ones, I think ). I bought one in 1998, and used it for some years; wore the cover on it to protect the gel.

I picked up two new ones after the second lumpectomy in 2003. They were subsidised by Medicare. I mostly wear a T shirt, contour type, underwire bra these days, so Ok without a prosthesis, mostly. I used to be a 12 C.

Now, I am sort of a 14 B... I do not like the bra straps too tight at the back to help with lymph drainage.

I have the two prosthesis, if I wear a non padded bra..etc.

I was thinking the other day.. " Perhaps I could donate the prosthesis? "

Not sure.. I MAY use them again... What do you think?

     Kathy.

Lovely to see you back online Chris.  Where are you moving to?  Having a seachange?  If you don't get a "taker" my friend and fellow BCNA Community Liaison Officer is gathering loads of things to send to Africa.  She met a lady at the October Strength to Strength conference who lives in Africa.  Included in the packages are old prothesis, bras, creams, body lotions etc.  I can inbox you my address.  Look forward to hearing from you. Hello Ladies,I also have many pre-loved breast prosthesis that I would love to donate to those less fortunate. Would mine be suitable to also go to Africa? Is there already some organised collection of these? Having recently retired perhaps it is something I could assist with.MA.

    Hi Everyone

I have a barely used right breast prosthesis which I'd like to give to someone who needs one. Its an Amoena Contact 3E, which has the adhesive backing so doesnt require a special bra with pockets. Its a size 5R, which almost perfectly matched my size 14D left breast. I also have the corresponding swim form in a size 5 as well as front opening post-surgery bras. Please let me know if you have any queries. I'm in Melb but am happy to post interstate if needed. Stay strong and positive!

Hi girls, in the 'breast reconstruction' online group there is a blog where ladies can offer to donate their prothesis. This obviously helps ladies in Australia. Sam being a member of that group it might help you. i am not sure what size they are.

If you want to donate you used bras or prothesis there are collection points for this organisation around australia

    Hi all,

I have just donated mine as well as bras that don't fit anymore and mastectomy bras to Uplift Project.  Who send them to needy people overseas.  I live in Sydney and dropped them off in Marrickville but there are other places you can take them too.  Just google it.
