In my role as a BCNA Consumer Representative I have been fortunate to be linked with Dr Kara Britt, a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton.  It was my privilege to recently be taken on a personalised tour through the university’s laboratories used for research into both breast and prostate cancers.  It was mind boggling to see the many rooms full of high-tech equipment and have the opportunity to view breast cancer cells at a microscopic level.  Dr Britt, a recipient of a National Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship, is passionate and dedicated to her scientific research into breast cancer prevention.  Seeing these world-class facilities and knowing that Dr Britt and many others like her are working tirelessly to prevent breast cancer gives me much confidence for the future.
