Hello
I'm 2 weeks post bilateral diep flap recon. First check up with my surgeon and had to have some drainage of blood as my abdo/ stomach was distented
I was told if this happens again I woudl need and ultra sound and fruther drainage via llocal radiography centre
Has anyone else been through this ?
I was expecting swelling ect after surgery but I am worried why I have had had such a big build up up blood in my abdo. ? Drains came out after one week
Thanks

Hi maxi3, just jumping in to see if you were given a contact for someone in your treatment team following surgery? They should be across how you are going and especially if you are concerned.1

Hi Daina
The practise nurse said if I was concerned to call them, send photos or video even and they would then assess if further drainage needed
I was just curious if this is “normal” having this much blood/ fluid still in abdominal nearing post 2 weeks surgery
ive been home for 1 week and moving around

Hopefully you have been in touch with the Practice Nurse. Everyone reacts differently hence your fluid build up needs assessment!
Take care
