Breast removal

Hey all last Tuesday I was meant to have surgery just to remove the lump but decided to have the whole breast removed hoping that I could avoid chemo and radiation they also removed some lymph nodes due to some being a bit lumpy hoping they aren’t bad when I go back in 2 weeks for the results went home day 3 with drains in still have 1 drain in can’t wait for that to be removed heaps sore only just coping with pain meds I just want this to be over with already

    All the best for your recovery, @mumto6kids - and for your pathology results too xx.   Make sure you rest up & don't do ANY housework, lifting. ... anything, til after you see the surgeon xx  I hope you have good support at home.

    If you are still in pain, even with the meds they've given you - speak with your surgeon's office (or GP) to get an 'upgrade' ... you need to be able to sleep & rest up, & get better & if in pain, it makes it difficult.

    When you see the surgeon, they'll give you an idea of your 'game plan' - even if you don't need chemo/rads, you probably will still see both Rad Onc and Medical Onc .... record them all so you can go over it again later xx
