Aches and pains

Hello beautiful people,

I am new to the group. I was diagnosised breast cancer in Jan 2024 at the age of 32. I have had AC and now on paclitaxel about to have my 6th round. I am just wondering if anyone has body aches as a symptom. I have had sore shoulders, back, and legs. Appears to be more muscle. But I am little worried about it. 🩷
  • Hi @katie123 I had the same. oh the aches. Had me pacing the floor for hours during the night as I could not get comfortable. The various treatments affect everyone so differently and even the Onco's do not know the full extent of the side effects. My treatment nurses are the best source for me as they see so many patients with all different types of treatment and always help with a solution. Sending big hugs
  • Hi @katie123,
I had the same chemo treatment as you. I had aches and knee joint pain as well. Just remember to let your nurses and medical oncologist know. Mine didn’t bother me much so my medical oncologist and the nurses did not suggest any meds. I agree with Blossom1961, the treatment nurses are the best source for solutions 🤭 compared to my medical oncologist!

wishing you all the best for the rest of your treatments 🤗
  • I had the same katie123. It did not bother me too much as I knew that it is a side effect from taxol as listed in the information pamphlet provided by my oncologist, which is: Joint and muscle pain and stiffness. It was gone by the cycle 5. Just report to your oncologist or the nurse when you go for chemo. They ask these questions anyway. All the best with your treatment.
  • @katie123 I have only started Taxol down 2 lots, but week one had the joint pain hips and legs and had flashbacks to AC and the bone marrow injection.  I am taking oesto Panadol regularly which is helping manage along with magnesium tablets, was told Taxol impacts the big muscles.  Warm showers/baths or heat packs might also offer some relief.  Hope it eases as others have suggested.
