and so are my personal troubles. So on here doing the cheer up and distracting Friday funnies and naughty but funny and creative corner. Better not start the sewing machine at this stupid hour

I'm often wide awake during the wee hours, but I don't get up to the computer or else the cats will think it's daytime and beg for food, attention and take it in turns to dig their way to Nepal in the sandtrays. I do, however, take my knitting with me to the bedroom and am often knitting away at two or three in the morning. I find it helps to create a sort of 'white noise' to block out the nighttime mental tennis of what if this...what if that and even the more mundane things. I complicated lace pattern with lots of knit this purl that, slip this, drop that, f**k this, f**k that keeps the mind off those things for me.5

Anything that stops your mind straying into the world of tomorrow’s issues and concerns is worth doing in the wee small hours. Particularly if it’s a bit soporific. Killer sudokus do it for me!2

I love my knitting but at present I am highly stressed as I have a sister very ill, needs a lung transplant. I find as I knit the tension isn't even so I continually pull out as I don't cope with uneven tension
Hopefully I can get her more settled and knit for escapism sake. I do, fortunately, have finished items to enter the CWA Creative Arts

I am often awake at silly hours too, @cranky_granny .... a few times when hubby gets up & and also last night, I had to deal with a rat caught in a trap that was bouncing around the kitchen as the trap hadn't killed it ..... grrrr .... but I rarely get up to the computer tho (in the lounge) when I get up or I'd never go back to bed! ...
I hope you start to feel better soon after the chemo .... Have you tried Wordle or Quordle (4 Wordles simultaneously!) to take your mind off things - I really enjoy doing them now!!
IS IT YOUR BIRTHDAY TODAY????? HAPPY BIRTHDAY! XXX

Hey @cranky_granny I was awake too.
That feeling when I wake at 1am stagger to the loo (worrying that my bladder may revolt on the way) accidentally turn on the brightest light in the house and fry my eyeballs open.
Back to bed only to discover that I've forgotten where to put my arms while sleeping. No fucking idea at all. Stress about not getting back to sleep.
By then I'm doomed. I try not to make things worse by turning to the internet, but realistically I might as well.
That, or wander the town frightening possums, rabbits and stray cats well before dawn, which has become the prefered approach.
What doesnt kill you makes you stranger. Mxx5
