support group in Melbourne

Hi. I am 43 years old from Melbourne- 12 years in Australia. I don't have any family in Australia. Only husband and our 9 years old daughter and I have only a few friends . I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 25 th October, went for the operation one month later. From 6 th January I will start my radiation 25 sessions.. I would like to reach to some support group, North of Melbourne, or City.

Perhaps if you give an idea of your suburb ladies there will know of the nearest support group.
Perhaps even mention your background as you may find a specific support group with members who really understand your feeling of isolation in a new country.

I am from Dallas (Melbourne)- next to Broadmedows, Glenroy area. Treated in Epping hospital. I am from Europe, but I am will be happy with Australian support group. Australia is my home now. I am Polish, my husband italian

The Northern Breast Cancer Support Group (NBCSG) is under the "umbrella" of Epping hospital. The breast care nurse should be able to give you the contact details. It is quite a multi cultural area, so the group is diverse also. 1

Hi ! There is quite a good group run out of Think Pink on St Kilda Rd..close to the city. I think you will find it comforting to sit with others who have been through a similar diagnosis.
