Mona Lisa Touch

Hi Everyone

I am 16 months in from having a lumpectomy. I am now on Letrozole and it does not have very nice side effects, one being a very dry vagina. Has anyone on here had the Mona Lisa touch done? If so do you think it was worth it and has it worked etc. What sort of cost was it?
I am thinking of getting it done but really keen to hear from someone that has already had it.
Thanks
Ady

It's a thorough nuisance for lots of reasons not least as it makes an effective pap smear nigh impossible! I have an option of oestrogen treatment for at least two weeks with no guarantee of success even then or taking comfort from a clear ultrasound and not trying again. Be interested to hear what anyone else has done with a similar problem.

Zoffiel, I can cope with the hot flushes. I take my tablets at night and that seems to help. Hope you found out on Google about MLT.

Afraser, I do not need pap smears anymore thank goodness. I cannot take any kind of estrogen due to the kind of cancer I have. I do use Replens at present but they are not that good.

mum2jj, glad to hear a GP talking about it. I go to my Oncologist today so will be interesting to see if he knows about it. I have rung a few places and the prices vary a lot! I don't mind going without other things to have this done if it will work. Yes I have skimmed over the other page where they chat about it.

Hi ladies. Before you try the Mona Lisa touch, I'd recommend this website https://www.yesyesyes.org/products/. Yes make organic vaginal products, and in the UK you can buy them on the NHS. I use the Yes Water Based Vaginal Moisturiser, which has pretty well fixed my vaginal atrophy. There's a lot of information on their website. Postage is free from the UK if you order $50 or more of goods. It's not cheap, but it works, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the Mona Lisa touch, which I believe you need to get topped up every so often. The other thing is DHEA pessaries, but I now don't use these because I understand the DHEA converts to estrogen. As other members have suggested, please check out the Lost Libido Ladies group - you'll need to apply for membership - as a number of us have posted a lot of stuff there about MLT and Yes. Best of luck, DaisyMarigold

Many thanks to all - my specialist doesn't think I may need Pap smears either but I found it reassuring to get that one clear! I agree Ady that Replens isn't much good, may give Yes a try.

DaisyMarigold, thank you for that info. Just confirming that the YES will not affect you if you have estrogen related BC? I went on to the website and it sounds quite good. I am quite keen to try some. Can you not get it here anywhere?

Hi Ady - yes, I'm confirming that, according to the Yes website, there are only natural, organic products in Yes. Do have a good look around the site though, because I think we each need to satisfy ourselves re what we put into our bodies. I've been using it for quite a while now - I get the big bags of about 30 applicators. I use it 2 - 3 times a week. Just make sure you are getting the VM Vaginal Moisturiser and not one of the other products. I also find the oil based lubricant is very good to keep things moist during sex, so if you buy that as well as the applicators, you'll be over the minimum purchase for free freight. And I think you can buy it here, through a distributor in Sydney. But I doubt it would cost less, and you would be paying Australian freight, which can be very expensive. The postage from the UK is pretty quick - about a week to 10 days. Also, once you register online and buy, you'll get emails 2 - 3 times a year re 25% off the Yes products. I doubt you would get that from a local distributor. It does take a few weeks for it to really work, so I'm not sure it's a good idea to just buy a small quantity locally. But by all means try that if you'd prefer, and do let us know how you go. Good luck with it. DaisyMarigold

Hi All. I spoke to the Oncologist today about MLT. He knew all about it. Said success rate 60-70%. I am now working on what I think would be better for me, MLT or YES products. There is fors and againsts for both of them. Watch this space

    Warning - TOO MUCH INFORMATION
So I've been using the YesYesYes water based vaginal moisturiser and it seems like it's too liquid? I insert it but then it runs out down my leg!!!! The only way I can get it to stay in place (and do its job) is if I use it while I'm in bed just before I go to sleep. If I get up before the morning it still runs out. Seriously am I doing something wrong????
if I can get it to stay then it works quite well but obviously when it runs out I've wasted it and need to use another dose. I've been using Replens for 3 years previously and never had this issue?
Does this happen to anyone else?
I also bought the water based lubricant which is good and the rose scented intimate wash which I love but I honestly don't know if I would buy the vaginal moisturiser again. I think I prefer Replens because at least it stays inside and does what it's supposed to.
Although my inner thighs are very soft now - hahaha!
