A peek at posts and comments
Hi everyone,
Today we're meeting with our new design agency that is going to help us make the new online network not only more attractive, but easier to read. In the meantime, I thought I'd give you a peek at what a typical post will look like. Just keep in mind that the final colours are not shown here.
Here's a post from Deanne from last May. You can see the title of her post, her lovely profile picture, and with more than 1,400 posts under her belt, you can see Deanne is a long-time valuable member who actively participates in the community. This post will live in the newly created Health and Wellbeing section of the community.
This was a popular conversation with two pages of comments. The comments sit just below the original post. Notice we're adding some reactions such as Like. Members have been asking for these for a while. You've told us that sometimes you don't have anything to say, but you'd like to show support somehow and you liked the idea of a Like button.
If you do want to reply, the comment box sits at the bottom of the page.
Besides Bold, Italic, and what you're used to seeing here, the comment editor has a few extra options such as the ability to add smiley faces and videos. You can also preview your comment before posting it or save it as a draft for later. It also automatically saves every 30 seconds or so to help you avoid losing your posts in progress.
What do you think?

I love the idea of the having reaction buttons. So many times I have started to write a comment and even though I have been through this myself I don't always have the right words to say! So being able to show love and support without words is awesome!

one thing we really need is a date stamp of when the post was created and when it was last updated. Posts then need to be sorted by last updated and not by their creation date as is the case at the moment. What you want to see is the latest replies etc. Even a flag as you see them listed that shows that their has been new activity.
Would love to see how the posts will look within each group

Hi angiesg.
All posts have a date and time stamp already and we're keeping that.
There will be a few different ways to look at posts:
1. You can view categories.
2. You can see all the latest discussions.
3. You can see just the discussions you've posted in or want to follow.
You can see up to 15 posts on one page (right now, you can see nine in the main feed). They're sorted by the most recent first and when a post gets a new comment, it moves back up to the top. Here's a picture of the discussions within the Newly Diagnosed category. This is in progress, but I think it will give you a sense of it.

Looks great. I often do read others posts and would like to read others responses to it...but at times I cannot offer support or advice ...such as flap recon stuff....as my experience is different. But I hate seeing posts sit there for days before people respond and knowing people are reading them is at least providing some support. I'm joping tbe notification process will be simpler than currently. You presently read and delete. Then a few days later all the posts come into messages separately again when someone else posts. Hopefully this wll improve with the upgrade.

I'd also like to be able to edit my responses. ..as with typos above ....for obvious reasons

I agree it's sad when no one replies to a post. We all remember our first post and waiting for a reply, so being able to even put a love heart a thumbs up would be an acknowledgement, great job guys. Adean

Looks good on everything you stayed ??
Will we be able to edit own responses to posts ? I am goping the answer is 'yes' as sometimes there are typos or autocorrect oe touchscreen go nuts and the response can be very difficult to understand.
Another question I have is will there be a way to stop notifications of responses to a post we responded to should we wish to stop them? I mean I would prefer to 'opt in' to get notifications rather than to just get them as individual messages for every single response as currently I can receive up to a dozen individual messages for the same thread on the same day and takes forever to clean up the inbox...
Keep up the good work ??
Jel.

Yeah, the whole messaging and notifications system is getting an overhaul. Stay tuned! And you will be able to edit posts for up to 15 minutes after you've posted. The list of features is coming together and we'll be sure to share that in this group.

Hi Jel. Yes, you'll be able to edit your posts for up to 15 minutes after you've published it. The messaging and notifications system is being overhauled. It's in progress so we'll share more about that soon. It's all coming together and we'll be sure to post a list of the new features soon.
